So Barbara created afribol in an attempt to raise funds to pay those bills upfront. In 2016, the afribol debuted nationally in the Netherlands to wide-spread acclaim. (See news page) Covid & life interrupted the momentum and impact of Afribol. But now, the Afribol is back - better and health-forward.

Afribol was born in 2013 when our founder discovered that women were being turned away from, or left to die in hospitals during labour pains for the simple reason of not being able to pay their maternal bills upfront.

Afribol was born in 2013 when our founder discovered that women were being turned away or left to die in hospitals during labour pains simply because they could not pay their maternal bills upfront.

So Barbara created afribol in an attempt to raise monies to pay those bills up front. In 2016, the afribol debuted nationally in the Netherlands to National acclaim. (See our news page) Covid & life interrupted the momentum and the powerful impact that Afribol was speedily making possible. But now, the Afribol is back - better and improved for a health-focused treat.

We want sustainable and continuous results.

Just as we created a company to avoid the instability of reliance on goodwill-donations, so did we develop a business model to give individuals and businesses the power to join us reduce maternity mortality - by enjoying themselves. Cynicismreally does not help in situations involving women suffering and dying during childbirth for no reason but lack of maternal bills. We just had to take a stance whether to complain and be cynial about the world or take action. We did. In business. do something! s Afribol has simply had to sell well to achieve our goal. We did not tart with a business. A terrible problem tha involved the continuous death and suffering of many women during childbirth showed up. And we tried to do something about. So a business was born t make redundant the need to go about constantly asking for donations. in many countries the reason it was created. The Afribol Company has thus become not only a plce of delicious snacking but a team of mission driven people who are now combining indulgent snacking with an innovative, customizable CSR solution will, allowing companies to delight their stakeholders while making a meaningful global impact.

The Luxurious Koffiebol Line

The Koffiebol was part of the experiment to see how far the Afribol concept could go. It was an ode to Dutch coffee drinkers in a way never done before. The result of that experiment became a  product so beloved we had to continue with improving and re-imagining -  leading to the sensationally delightful Arabkoffiebol version.

The Firebol (Hotbol) Series

Before the Afribol original was born, was already the first experiments that resulted in afribols so hot people literally teared up. So hot were they that we had to go for the afribol original in order to soften the heat. However, a recent tryout of the fiery hot combo has resulted in such wild love for it that we have had to birth the firebol or hotbol series. You’ve got to have balls to eat those bolls!

The Afribol Original

It all started with the Afribol Original. I wanted to create something original, exotic, yet recognizable in The Netherlands. It had to be so good that people would not know what hit them. Later, after seeing people chase after us for more of 'that thing!' I realised we had succeeded remarkably.
