So she created afribol in an attempt to raise funds to pay those bills upfront. In 2016, the afribol debuted nationally in the Netherlands to wide-spread acclaim. (See newspage) Covid & life interrupted the momentum. But now, the Afribol is back - better and healthier; and built for the power of community action.

Afribol was born in 2013 when our founder discovered that women were being turned away from, or left to die in hospitals during labour pains for the simple reason of not having enough money to pay for their maternal bills upfront.
